Denise (owner and mom) started Karabread, LLC for Kara (daughter) who is on the autism spectrum. Kara is passionate about baking, cooking and helping people.
Her neurodiversity brings the strength of perseverance and a strong work ethic. After graduating from high school, Kara attended culinary arts school, where she cultivated her passion for food. Denise and Kara soon became known as the DoughChicks.
DoughChicks developed their energy cookie (gluten-free) in 2017. They soon developed unique granola flavors, snack and pancake mixes, with an emphasis on using nutrient-dense ingredients. They specialize in creating and producing food that is gluten, soy and dairy free. DoughChicks rent from Can-Do Kalamazoo which has a licensed commercial kitchen. DoughChicks enjoy being a part of the Kalamazoo community. We love to serve our community with healthy nutrient-dense food.
